Leather Chaps

With a distinct aroma, leather armour became very popular with warriors and hunters, as well as a few villagers, but that's another story. Leather, when properly layered and cured, can turn away both the claws of a beast and the blades of an assailant.

Brynmoor villagers favoured simpler styles, which were easy to produce and focused on defence. When traversing the wild forests of Ashenfall, they quickly found that more elaborate designs got in the way. It was better to keep things simple so that they might be more easily repaired than to choose style over function.

Still, it was common for villagers to add small adornments to their leather armour to make them stand out. Patches made to resemble animals were common practices, though flowers were also popular.

Gentle perfumes were also favoured to help limit the leather's distinctive smell.
