Mounts

21 mounts in the game data: 16 terrorbirds and 5 magic carpets. One base mount of each kind is earned through a quest; the rest are colour variants unlocked by an item.

There are two mounts and a wardrobe of skins for each. The terrorbird comes from The Wild Hunt and carries 200 extra weight, which makes it the gathering mount. The magic carpet comes from the first part of Icthlarin's Little Helper; it adds no weight, but it glides over the Umbral Sands far faster than a bird, takes less fall damage and jumps higher. Hold Alt (Y on an Xbox pad) to call either. Stamina drains slower in the saddle, but any damage, or Wither building up, sends the mount away, and you earn no passive Agility XP while riding.

The variants change the look and nothing else. Domri the Merchant sells the Infernal Blightbeak and the Zamorakian Pledgesaddle for 9,999 Garou Chit each, Death sells the Mossbeak Hunter and the Oakfeather Raptor for 2,000 Soul Fragments, and the Evil Emporium sells the Coastal Sunbeak and the Astralbeak Warbler for 2,000 Infernal Fragments. The rest drop: the Springdown Runner, Grassfoot Screecher and Leafwood Strider from green dragons, zogres, soulstone sentinels and Fellhollow chests; the Summerbellied Wagtail, Eclipseborn Sharpbeak and Sunkissed Clawfoot from blue dragons, lesser demons, elite Black Knights and Dowdun Reach chests; the Crimson Crybaby, Scorchsummer Ashbeak and Applefeather Mosstail from the red dragon, KotHaar-Kal, kalphite guardians and Umbral Sands chests. Two carpets are vestiges to study: Uzzerian Umber from Tok-Xil and Moonsilk Weave from the Kalphite Queen.

Terrorbirds

16the ground mount

The plain Terrorbird comes from The Wild Hunt in Fellhollow, where Vannaka's ritual with three primordial hearts binds the spirits to you. Call it with ALT. The other feathers are visual variants, each granted by a consumable unlock item. Quest: The Wild Hunt.

Magic carpets

5the desert mount

The Magic Carpet is the Alcarrid clan's gift once their three tasks in Icthlarin's Little Helper are done, and it is how you cross the open sand without the Scorch catching up. The weaves are variants from unlock items, two of them named for the Uzzer and Manafem clans. Quest: Icthlarin's Little Helper.
