Icthlarin's Little Helper
Slay the tyrant dragon Fuzan and unite the Moon Garou along the way
Icthlarin's Little Helper is the desert quest: you come through the door in the Bastion into the Alcarrid Oasis, earn the trust of all three Moon Garou clans to collect their mirror lenses, repair Icthlarin's mirrors to burn through the seal on Fuzan's volcano, survive ten waves of the Fight Caves and kill Fuzan. Bring a mithril pickaxe and an adamant logging axe for the clan errands, a spade, clean water, three adamant bars, the makings of lodestones, Soul Food dishes and cooling drinks for the Scorch, and power level 6 gear for the end.

Steps
18- 1
Speak to the Alcarrid Elder in the Moon Garou settlement to the south
Shangruuh meets you in the passage from Dowdun Reach. Go into the Alcarrid camp and speak to Ancamairon, who stands beside Icthlarin; the god wants a mirror lens and the clan won't trust an outsider with one until you've earned it.
- 2
Investigate the nearby area for something that concerns the Moon Garou
- 3
Return to Shangruuh, the Alcarrid Envoy in the passage from Dowdun Reach
- 4
Travel to Moon Garou camps, find their elders, and earn their trust to gain their Mirror Lenses
Each clan sets three tasks before its elder hands over a lens, and the Manafem Plains and the Dunes of Uzzer can be done in either order once the Alcarrid are satisfied.
- 5
Enter the Fight Caves and defeat Fuzan
With the mirrors repaired, the beam of sunlight points at the Burning Spire. The volcanic gateway at its base is the Fight Caves: ten waves in the Trials of Fuzan, then the door to his lair. This activity is not safe; dying drops your items and sends you to your bed. The fight is on the Fuzan page.
- 6
Bring Fuzan's head to Icthlarin at the Mirror Relay
His head goes to Icthlarin at the Mirror Relay. Keep a slot free.
- 7
Gain the trust of the Alcarrid Camp
Alcarrid task one, Rogue Trader: Domri wants three moonstone nodes found in the western desert, under gypsum in rocky ground and caves. The compass leads you to each; checking all three opens his shop.
- 8
Gain the trust of the Alcarrid Camp
Alcarrid task two, The Mirror Crack'd: Valas needs three
Adamant Bars (nine adamantite ore and nine coal if you smelt them yourself) to fix the mirrors, and pays 200 garou chits. - 9
Gain the trust of the Alcarrid Camp
Alcarrid task three, Rag and Bone Garou: Lagra the butcher wants three raw farm meat (vultures or goats), three kalphite shell fragments and three cactus steaks (bunny cactus, adamant axe or better), for another 200 chits.
- 10
Gain the trust of the Alcarrid Camp
- 11
You have completed the tribe's tasks. Return to the Alcarrid Elder
Ancamairon rewards the three tasks with a Moon Garou pack and the magic carpet mount, which is how you'll cross the open sand from here.
- 12
Speak to Icthlarin at the Mirror Relay
- 13
Speak to the Alcarrid Elder and complete tasks to earn their trust
Manafem tasks, from Dúshlánach's camp: Laguna wants the lyrics from three garou statues in the kalphite vault south of the camp (summon a scarab staff inside so the scarabs ignore you; the third statue needs Windstep); Hedric wants his lost scouting party found east of the camp, which ends with a red dragon to kill for its radiant heart; Manathep wants the Dearg Due hunted south of the camp, which actually means following it through the sandstorm west of the pyramid vault to her daughter Efina and giving her clean water. The elder then gives the lens, a pack and level 4 with Beartach's shop.
- 14
Place the three Mirror Lenses into the Mirror Relay
Place all three lenses in the Mirror Relay, then interact with each mirror to repair it.
- 15
Journey through the Fight Caves and slay Fuzan
- 16
Look for signs of life in the desert
- 17
Enter the Umbral Sands
- 18
Complete tasks for the final camp and gain their Mirror Lens
Uzzer tasks, from Gaimbín's camp: Lehran wants four Forbidden Scrolls dug up from the ruins far to the south with a spade, two behind locked gates and all among KotHaar and goats; Laguna wants the saga from the stone slabs on the four spires around the pyramid, some in caves behind sandstone, ending at the spire with the Nightmare Crucible of Humiliation entrance; Shangruuh wants the three councillors talked out of Mark Day, which takes the second, first and second options with Alabrais and Chirot, and the second, first and second with Brialka. The elder then gives the last lens, a pack and level 4 with Iasadair's shop.
On completion
Fuzan's tyranny has been ended by your hand, and the dread dragon can no longer torment the Moon Garou of the Umbral Sands. A ravaged region now has a chance to heal, thanks to you.
Tips
3The kalphite vault's next two levers open the way to a Kalphite Queen. She isn't part of the quest, but she drops the corroded curved blade, the keris' vestige, if you're ready for her.
The reward pack has the
Dragonfire Shield, the Tome of Volcano and a smouldering draconic visage, with three Moon Garou packs on top, and the quest unlocks the full Fight Caves (and the
Fire Cape) and the Nightmare Crucible.
Finishing it opens the Dragon Gate north-west of the Fractured Plains for Regicide.
Dialogue (379 lines)
Shangruuh - Alcarrid Envoy: I don't know much about humans, but you don't look like a Black Knight. I guess I'll give the prepared speech anyway.
Shangruuh - Alcarrid Envoy: I don't know much about humans, but you don't look like a Black Knight. I guess I'll give the prepared speech anyway.
Shangruuh - Alcarrid Envoy: I'd be very happy if you could travel to Alcarrid, my camp in the south-east. It was my job to bring an envoy from other regions.
Shangruuh - Alcarrid Envoy: I COME HERE ON BEHALF OF THE MOON GAROU OF ALCARRID. WE SEEK AN ALLIANCE AGAINST THE DRAGON FUZAN.
Shangruuh - Alcarrid Envoy: I COME HERE ON BEHALF OF THE MOON GAROU OF ALCARRID. WE SEEK AN ALLIANCE AGAINST THE DRAGON FUZAN.
Shangruuh - Alcarrid Envoy: I'd be very happy if you could travel to Alcarrid, my camp in the south-east. It was my job to bring an envoy from other regions.
Shangruuh - Alcarrid Envoy: So, not-a-Black-Knight, are you going to help us?
Shangruuh - Alcarrid Envoy: And stay in the shadows as much as you can. The Umbral Sands is plagued by something called Scorch. The sun gives no leeway to unprepared humans.
Shangruuh - Alcarrid Envoy: Well, that went better than I expected. You will need to travel south-east to Alcarrid, our camp, where your alliance will be processed.
Shangruuh - Alcarrid Envoy: That's...unfortunate. If and when you change your mind, come to my camp in Alcarrid and talk to the Elder.
Shangruuh - Alcarrid Envoy: And stay in the shadows as much as you can. The Umbral Sands is plagued by something called Scorch. The sun gives no leeway to unprepared humans.
Icthlarin: I am to return to the Underworld soon. Can I assist you before I leave?
Icthlarin: I wish to talk to you, adventurer. But could you first visit the garou at the passage to Dowdun Reach? It would aid us both if she was returned safely.
Icthlarin: I wish we could meet on better terms, adventurer. My name is Icthlarin, God of the Underworld.
Icthlarin: You are really quite effective. The garou are looking at us with less than the traditional amount of disgust.
Icthlarin: The way to Kuldra's Tower is breached in Ghornfell. I know this because something has changed in the Underworld.
Icthlarin: Death, it seems, is cyclical. You return with another head of Fuzan. Do you wish to give it to me?
Icthlarin: The way to Kuldra's Tower is breached in Ghornfell. I know this because something has changed in the Underworld.
Icthlarin: Souls are coming to me from Umbral Sands at a faster and faster rate. My good friend Death informed me that the culprit is Fuzan, a dragon tyrant of these dunes.
Icthlarin: Quite the busybody. You seem to have earned their trust. I would speak to the Elder.
Icthlarin: Ugh, democracy is such a tiresome mortal concept. While we have convinced the Elder to hand over the Lens, it seems that we also have to convince his people.
Icthlarin: The final two Mirror Lenses will be held by the remaining Moon Garou camps: Uzzer to the east and Manafem to the south.
Icthlarin: There is little time to waste, adventurer. We must repair the mirrors.
Icthlarin: A formidable sight! I look forward to greeting Fuzan in the Underworld.
Icthlarin: Would you be so good as to clear space in your inventory? I have something you might want.
Icthlarin: A path has formed between Kuldra's Tower and the River Noumenon. There is no worse omen, I am afraid. The floodgates are about to open.
Icthlarin: A path has formed between Kuldra's Tower and the River Noumenon. There is no worse omen, I am afraid. The floodgates are about to open.
Icthlarin: It is time to push back, and there is no better weapon than this Mirror Relay. It is lacking three Mirror Lenses but, once complete, it could concentrate a light beam on Fuzan's Volcano.
Icthlarin: This job suits you better than me. Earn Alcarrid's trust by completing tasks in the camp.
Icthlarin: Your magic carpet will get a lot of use, I suspect. But that journey is for you, not me. I must stay here and guard the Mirrors. Fuzan will no doubt focus his efforts on them. They are the easier target.
Icthlarin: The Mirror Relay...restored.
Icthlarin: I have positioned them carefully. I believe that they are directed towards Fuzan's Lens: the dragonkin relic which both protects his Volcano and powers Fuzan's Mark.
Icthlarin: You, I hope to greet many years hence. Although, I imagine that you will be facing Fuzan's mother next.
Icthlarin: I wish you balance. Travel to Kuldra's Tower, through a passage in the north of the Fractured Plains. The way is open.
Icthlarin: I wish you balance. Travel to Kuldra's Tower, through a passage in the north of the Fractured Plains. The way is open.
Icthlarin: You have done so much good in these veiled lands. I beg you to do some more. Could you talk to the Alcarrid Elder, earn the trust of his people, and gain their Mirror Lens?
Icthlarin: But more importantly, Fuzan's Lens has been destroyed. It no longer provides protection around the Volcano. Fuzan is exposed.
Icthlarin: That belief is about to be tested when you complete the Mirrors. Elidinis help me if I am wrong.
Icthlarin: If that is your plan, then the way is open. Travel to Kuldra's Tower, through a passage in the north of the Fractured Plains.
Icthlarin: Would you be so good as to clear space in your inventory? I have something you might want.
Icthlarin: We would only need two more to complete the Relay. But it would be a mighty step towards slaying Fuzan!
Icthlarin: We must hurry. It is time to strike Fuzan before he retaliates. But I must warn you: he will use his KotHaar as a shield. You will likely need to face waves of them before confronting Fuzan.
Icthlarin: Someone that foolhardy should go prepared. And to that end, I have a gift for you.
Icthlarin: Part trophy, part defensive item, part Mirror Lens. I have put a fragment of my mother's mirror in there.
Ancamairon - Alcarrid Elder: Icthlarin, I am not disagreeing with you. But we are a young clan, only a few years old. We have barely learnt to survive in the desert. We aren't ready to confront a dragon!
Icthlarin: Elder, with all respect, I am not asking you to face Fuzan. Leave that to me. I am merely asking for your clan's Mirror Lens.
Ancamairon - Alcarrid Elder: And what then? You use this Mirror Relay to blast Fuzan's Volcano, and he flies here in a rage. We are not warriors! You cannot do that to my people.
Ancamairon - Alcarrid Elder: You are the God of the Underworld. I know how this works. We couldn't stop you from taking our Mirror Lens. But please, earn the trust of my people before you condemn them.
Be warned: once you initiate the Fight Caves, you will not be able to leave until the fight is completed.
A large volcanic exit stands before you.
You can't exit the Fight Caves while the challenge is still in progress.
A large volcanic cave entrance lies before you.
The door remains magically sealed shut.
Gaimbín - Uzzer Elder: A human. How unbecoming. I hoped that we had moved far enough away from your sort.
Dúshlánach - Manafem Elder: Be off with you, Unmarked. Manafem lives are hard enough without prying human eyes.
Gaimbín - Uzzer Elder: A human. How unbecoming. I hoped that we had moved far enough away from your sort.
Gaimbín - Uzzer Elder: Go curry favours with your Alcarrid friends. You are not wanted here.
Gaimbín - Uzzer Elder: For all of our sakes, I hope you kill Fuzan. If you fail, then it is over. We are damned.
Gaimbín - Uzzer Elder: I do not give praise lightly, but you are remarkable. Killing Fuzan has lifted a great weight from the Uzzer, a weight that we did not know that we were carrying.
Dúshlánach - Manafem Elder: Be off with you, Unmarked. Manafem lives are hard enough without prying human eyes.
Dúshlánach - Manafem Elder: Do you not have an Alcarrid garou to pester? I can think of a million things I need to deal with more than you.
Dúshlánach - Manafem Elder: Fuzan's Mark burns more than ever. He has focused the Lens on us, I can feel it. Please - claim his head before he decides to claim us completely.
Dúshlánach - Manafem Elder: Sweet, blessed River Goddess, the pain of Fuzan's Mark has gone.
Gaimbín - Uzzer Elder: My scouts saw your approach, my advisers told me you were coming, and my seers predicted your arrival. I doubt a Kalphite Queen would make a greater noise.
Dúshlánach - Manafem Elder: You are a bad omen at a bad time, Unmarked.
Dúshlánach - Manafem Elder: It's like I am seeing the world afresh. My senses haven't been dulled by pain. Has the wind always made that whistling sound through our camp?
Gaimbín - Uzzer Elder: The Uzzer Clan are not the Alcarrid. We will not give up our Mirror Lens at the request of a half-god. Nor a human.
Gaimbín - Uzzer Elder: Oh, you are still here? I have heard whispers of your good deeds, but even those whispers are steeped in suspicion.
Gaimbín - Uzzer Elder: I know what you are doing. You are not selfless! This is all for the Mirror Lens. While my council pushes me to deal with you, I will not!
Gaimbín - Uzzer Elder: Could you complete your tasks a little quicker, and quieter, perhaps? And don't think that it will get you closer to my Mirror Lens.
Gaimbín - Uzzer Elder: My council urge me to listen to you. Do you not see how precarious my position is? While my council pressure me, I am the one who has to deal with Fuzan. I beg you - stop making my life harder.
Dúshlánach - Manafem Elder: We bear the Mark of Fuzan, and it is a wound that carves deep.
Dúshlánach - Manafem Elder: Are you struggling to earn our trust, Unmarked? It is not gained easily. We have been cheated so often that we expect it.
Dúshlánach - Manafem Elder: Thank you for helping that garou. But it will take more than that to win over my wary people.
Dúshlánach - Manafem Elder: I saw some labourers making jokes together! Do you know how rare that is? Keep going - I might even see one of them smile.
Dúshlánach - Manafem Elder: There is a phrase that our River Goddess taught us: 'to have a spring in your step'. That is how it feels to be a Manafem right now, Unmarked. Complete one more task and the Mirror Lens is yours.
Dúshlánach - Manafem Elder: Unmarked, I have more thanks than there are grains of sand in Umbral.
Gaimbín - Uzzer Elder: I have better things to do. I am preparing for Mark Day. It is the day we accept Fuzan's Mark on our body and, with it, his protection.
Gaimbín - Uzzer Elder: My council have voted to reduce my powers. I am overruled.
Gaimbín - Uzzer Elder: Please, stay a while in Uzzer. Our traders are unparalleled.
Dúshlánach - Manafem Elder: We may not look like we are bleeding, but each day we lose hope, sanity and fight. It pours and clots into the sand of Manafem.
Dúshlánach - Manafem Elder: Can I tell you something, Unmarked? Being a Manafem Elder is a punishment, not an honour. More garou turn it down than accept it.
Dúshlánach - Manafem Elder: You have a good heart, Unmarked. Manafem is lucky that you visited us.
Dúshlánach - Manafem Elder: And listen to me, calling you Unmarked! We are all Unmarked. Ah, the words feel so good in my mouth!
You have completed the tribe's tasks. Return to the Manafem Elder
You have completed the tribe's tasks. Return to the Uzzer Elder
Gaimbín - Uzzer Elder: Go help my people with things that they need doing. I will even be thankful for that. But I don't foresee me handing you our Mirror Lens.
Gaimbín - Uzzer Elder: You have earned their trust - more trust than they have in me, it seems. They have even allowed you to purchase more desirable goods from the merchants.
Dúshlánach - Manafem Elder: But our pride does NOT bleed out. While we might need help, we are reluctant to accept it. You will have a tough time earning our trust with tasks, Unmarked.
Dúshlánach - Manafem Elder: As Elder, you must face Fuzan. You must meet his KotHaar envoys. Your Mark burns most when the clan fails him. And he is not easy to please...
Gaimbín - Uzzer Elder: Mark Day is cancelled. We will not submit to Fuzan.
Dúshlánach - Manafem Elder: For the first time, being Elder of the Manafem has been an honour. You have vindicated my choice to let you into Manafem. You have vindicated it tenfold.
Gaimbín - Uzzer Elder: And the Mirror Lens is yours. Please, understand the responsibility you are taking on. If you fail to defeat Fuzan, we die. All of us, to a whisker.
Dúshlánach - Manafem Elder: Take our Mirror Lens. Use it to burn a hole through Fuzan. Let the River Goddess's light pierce him.
Gaimbín - Uzzer Elder: Please, make space in your inventory so I can give you what I owe you.
Dúshlánach - Manafem Elder: Please, make space in your inventory so I can give you what I owe you.
Ancamairon - Alcarrid Elder: Our clan is only a few years old, so we haven't had time to form our own myths or heroes.
Ancamairon - Alcarrid Elder: Welcome to Alcarrid. I am afraid I am engaged as current, so please come back later.
Ancamairon - Alcarrid Elder: We hoped we might be safer, moving further away from the dragon Fuzan. For a while that was true.
Ancamairon - Alcarrid Elder: How are you finding the magic carpet? Beats getting sucked into quicksand, am I right?
Ancamairon - Alcarrid Elder: I can't quite believe it: you have the trust and Mirror Lenses of Uzzer, Manafem AND Alcarrid? Not even Fuzan could bring the three clans together!
Ancamairon - Alcarrid Elder: But you can bet that the gossips and storytellers of Alcarrid are going to claim you as one of their own!
Ancamairon - Alcarrid Elder: But he has been making raids around the camp, and his KotHaar have been making demands of our goods.
Ancamairon - Alcarrid Elder: Mallacht! My first year as an elder, and I'm stuck between a dragon and a demi-god.
Ancamairon - Alcarrid Elder: Feel free to stay a while. The other clans are still reluctant to trade with us, so we could do with the business.
Ancamairon - Alcarrid Elder: Now for the part that scares me to the marrow of my bones. I dearly hope you can slay Fuzan.
Ancamairon - Alcarrid Elder: The Dragon Slayer of Alcarrid. A fine title.
Ancamairon - Alcarrid Elder: But that doesn't mean that we can just take the fight to Fuzan. History tells us that resisting the dragons has not gone well.
Ancamairon - Alcarrid Elder: As convincing as Icthlarin is, it will not be enough for my people. They will not just bow to his whims.
Ancamairon - Alcarrid Elder: You are still a stranger to my people, human. Talk with them! I appreciate that they may be fearsome to your eyes, but they are anything but.
Ancamairon - Alcarrid Elder: My people call you 'the one who watches'. It's better than 'the one who must be stabbed', I suppose. But you will need to help more if you want to earn their trust.
Ancamairon - Alcarrid Elder: My people call you 'meddlesome', which loses something in translation, I suspect. It is a good thing! Keep helping!
Ancamairon - Alcarrid Elder: One more task should do it! I have seen the younger garou copying the way you walk, your posture. It is a good sign!
Ancamairon - Alcarrid Elder: You have earned the Alcarrid clan's trust. Our butcher has even named a new dish after you!
Ancamairon - Alcarrid Elder: And there is more than just Fuzan to face in the Volcano. Make sure you are prepared, adventurer. It will be the greatest challenge you have faced.
Ancamairon - Alcarrid Elder: My people do not trust the gods - that has gone badly for them. But you, adventurer: my Moon Garou could learn to trust you.
Ancamairon - Alcarrid Elder: We have held council, and agreed to give you the clan's Mirror Lens. Ach, I hope we do not regret it.
Ancamairon - Alcarrid Elder: Please, help my people with any tasks they may have. Only then will my people accept your request to hand over our Mirror Lens.
Ancamairon - Alcarrid Elder: If you don't mind, I also wish to give you a personal gift. My partner is a weaver, and she has made you something.
Ancamairon - Alcarrid Elder: Will you accept the burden that Icthlarin and I are placing on you?
Ancamairon - Alcarrid Elder: It will bear you over quicksand. Navigating the sands will be a little easier.
Ancamairon - Alcarrid Elder: Thank you, adventurer. I am sure my people will make use of you.
Ancamairon - Alcarrid Elder: We will wait. Be warned, though, Icthlarin does not like the patient sort.
Ancamairon - Alcarrid Elder: Your very own magic carpet, blessed by Moon Sprites.
Ancamairon - Alcarrid Elder: No doubt you will use it on your next step. If you wish to complete the Mirror Relay here, you will need the Mirror Lenses of Uzzer to the east, and Manafem to the south.
Ancamairon - Alcarrid Elder: I have also persuaded our merchant to make more goods available to you. He was keeping the good stuff back from you.
Shangruuh - Alcarrid Envoy: Please, make space in your inventory so I can give you what I owe you.

Lagra - The Butcher: Delicious to view you, but Alcarrid Elder says that visitors must see him first.
Lagra - The Butcher: Your meats have sold like hot snakes! My wares have never been hotter and more desirable.
Lagra - The Butcher: Lovely human! It is tasty that you see me. It delects my eyes to see you.
Lagra - The Butcher: I wait with breath bait! To remember, I want three raw farm meat, three kalphite shell fragments, and three cactus steaks from bunny cacti.
Lagra - The Butcher: Human-tongue is not my first tongue. I am Moon Garou.
Lagra - The Butcher: Raw farm meat come from raw mountain goats! They hop around on their hoofs near shady rock areas.
Lagra - The Butcher: No surprises that kalphite shell fragments come from kalphite. They are naughty bugs that like to peekaboo in ruins or nests.
Lagra - The Butcher: Cactus steaks come from bunny cactus. They have two big ears like a bunny! They're all about, but - if you feeling like you have green appendages - you could grow them instead.
Lagra - The Butcher: There is no rush and I am patient. I am salted and pickled, so will not perish.
Lagra - The Butcher: But enough funny chin-waggling! You will help me with task. I am slicer and server of flesh for garou. I am butch.
Lagra - The Butcher: I smell your meats! Would you like to pass them to me?
Lagra - The Butcher: Bring me three raw farm meat, three kalphite shell fragments, and three cactus steaks from bunny cacti. Speak to me again if you want some clue!
Lagra - The Butcher: There is no rush and I am patient. I am salted and pickled, so will not perish.
Lagra - The Butcher: I never seen flesh so moist and juicy! You have eye for dead tissue and exoskeletons.
Lagra - The Butcher: Please, make space in your inventory so I can give you what I owe you.
Lagra - The Butcher: I give you my succulent trust for making friends with Alcarrid.
Valas - The Blacksmith: You'll be wanting to talk to the Elder, not me.
Valas - The Blacksmith: The mirrors weren't just a symbol, you know. Back when this land was green and a lot less sandy, the River Goddess would use them.
Valas - The Blacksmith: You'll be the one who wants to remake the mirrors. Smells like folly to me, but I commend the spirit.
Valas - The Blacksmith: How she would use them, I don't know. A historian would tell you more than a blacksmith. But I like to think she reflected her power across the land.
Valas - The Blacksmith: Broken as they are, the mirrors are sacred to us. The River Goddess placed them here as a reminder of who must protect the Umbral Sands.
Valas - The Blacksmith: The job isn't a small one. It will need three adamant bars. If you've forgotten, the ore is found in various places to the south of here.
Valas - The Blacksmith: Right-ho, seems like you have the bars we need. If you don't mind, I'd like to do the work.
Valas - The Blacksmith: But before we can add the Mirror Lenses, we must fix their frames. As you can see, they are mangled.
Valas - The Blacksmith: The mirror will be fixed before you get the Lenses. I'll inform the Elder of your part in getting the job done. It was nice meeting you.
Valas - The Blacksmith: I've got other jobs I could be getting on with, you know.
Valas - The Blacksmith: Bring me three adamant bars to fix their frames. You can mine ore to make the bars at various mining spots to the south of here. You'll need to beware of kalphites, mind.
Valas - The Blacksmith: Please, make space in your inventory so I can give you what I owe you.
You have already completed this task.

Domri - The Merchant: I have furnished my shop with extra goods. It's my way of saying thanks for what you've done here.
You have already collected this moonstone.
You have already collected this moonstone.
You have already collected this moonstone.
Domri - The Merchant: If you want to trade, you'll need to speak to the Elder first. There is an order to these things.
You don't have enough space in your inventory to take this moonstone. Return when you've cleared some of your quest items.

You don't have enough space in your inventory to take this moonstone. Return when you've cleared some of your quest items.
Domri - The Merchant: I thought you might come to me. All of the camp is talking about the human and dog who want to take our Mirror Lens.
Domri - The Merchant: No moonstones? Goodness, have I given you an impossible task? What a tragedy. Perhaps you should cross your fingers and mine gypsum deposits to the west.
Domri - The Merchant: You need the tribe's trust, and I'm its trader. I connect everyone here. Thus, you need my good word.
Domri - The Merchant: I can scarcely believe it! Moonstones don't exist! I thought I was leading you on an impossible chase, yet - well, here they are.
Domri - The Merchant: Now, don't take this the wrong way, but I had you followed. When you lost the moonstones, my partner re-acquired them. And what beauties they are.
Domri - The Merchant: Well, it won't come easy. I want three moonstones: a gem that I have never personally held in my hand. They are so rare, in fact, that most Moon Garou will tell you that they don't exist.
Domri - The Merchant: I am a Moon Garou of my word. You wanted my favour in trade for the moonstones, and I give it. My task is done. I shall also make my trading goods available to you.
Domri - The Merchant: Know this: I could have kept the moonstones and mentioned nothing to you. I did this as a favour. Someday, and that day may never come, I will call upon you to do a service for me.
Domri - The Merchant: If you want my help with the Elder, you better hope they are incorrect. My guess is that they are to the west, hidden in rocky areas or caves. Under gypsum, maybe.
Domri - The Merchant: Please, make space in your inventory so I can give you what I owe you.
Domri - The Merchant: Stay a while to trade, if you like.
Shangruuh - Alcarrid Envoy: Good to see you. Go talk to the Uzzer Elder: you won't believe what they have to say for themselves.
Alabrais - Science Councillor: I'm rather busy. If you have council business then you know where to find me; otherwise I'd request that you leave me alone.
Alabrais - Science Councillor: The name's Alabrais. If you wish to discuss Mark Day, could we make it quick? I am a man of science, not a man of the people, and I have rocks to study.
Alabrais - Science Councillor: I have already withdrawn my support for the festival. The others may still support it though.
Chirot - Broker Councillor: I'm rather busy. If you have council business then you know where to find me; otherwise I'd request that you leave me alone.
Chirot - Broker Councillor: Chirot's the name! Always happy to meet someone new, particularly if they have coin in their purse, or goods to fence. But why do I think you're here to talk about Mark Day rather than profit?
Chirot - Broker Councillor: I have already withdrawn my support for the festival. The others may still support it though.
Brialka - Historian Councillor: I'm rather busy. If you have council business then you know where to find me; otherwise I'd request that you leave me alone.
Brialka - Historian Councillor: The name's Brialka. I am a historian, and this - little human - is a Dragonkin Vault. Should you wish to discuss Mark Day, then I am more than happy to explain why I think it's best for our future.
Brialka - Historian Councillor: I have already withdrawn my support for the festival. The others may still support it though.
Shangruuh - Alcarrid Envoy: Best news I've heard all week! Not only has Fuzan Mark Day been cancelled, but the Elder's powers have been reduced! You're one step closer to the Mirror Lens.
Alabrais - Science Councillor: Emotional, non-scientific nonsense. Who is to say that the Mark is equivalent to enslavement?
Alabrais - Science Councillor: I always assumed the KotHaar worked for Fuzan voluntarily. But that assumption is unverified. Interesting.
Alabrais - Science Councillor: An empty supposition. If Fuzan wanted us burned, we would be ash by now. Think scientifically, young one.
Chirot - Broker Councillor: Oh bravo, very dramatic. But drama won't make me rich, will it?
Chirot - Broker Councillor: True, true. His raids have done a lot of damage to my business so far. But gaining Fuzan's protection will stop all that, won't it?
Chirot - Broker Councillor: Oh boo hoo. There is always a hierarchy - people on the top, people on the bottom. Maybe you're just resentful that you're not on top, like me.
Brialka - Historian Councillor: Let's not go overboard. I know many see me as an emotional historian, but I'm no fool. Fuzan hasn't burned us before, and he's unlikely to do it now.
Brialka - Historian Councillor: Oh my, what a good point you make! I'm not just making a decision for the living, I am making it for - perhaps - multitudes more.
Brialka - Historian Councillor: What do you mean by control? I'm sure Fuzan has better things to do than puppet an optimistic little historian from Uzzer!
Shangruuh - Alcarrid Envoy: Why do the Uzzer garou have to be so insufferable? I came here to trade goods, but the Uzzer tribe are too busy planning for 'Fuzan Mark Day'.
Shangruuh - Alcarrid Envoy: There are three nobles on the Council, and you'll need to convince them all to drop the Fuzan Festival thing. They're all out in the wider region, putting their heads in the sands.
Alabrais - Science Councillor: A reasonable hypothesis. There are no data points where Fuzan has constructed systems or edifices, rather than taken control of them.
Alabrais - Science Councillor: You certainly use imaginative imagery! But imagery has little value to a garou of science.
Alabrais - Science Councillor: The world is a complicated place, young one. Like in geology, sometimes soft rock aligns with hard. I cannot agree with you.
Chirot - Broker Councillor: A cut! A CUT! He wouldn't, would he? Well, I will just have to swindle more to make up for it.
Chirot - Broker Councillor: Boring! Everyone can be bought. If anyone threatens me, I tuck some gems into their belt.
Chirot - Broker Councillor: The most powerful rise to the top. They always do. There is plenty of room for Fuzan at the top and Chirot slightly underneath.
Brialka - Historian Councillor: You've done this debating thing before, haven't you? Yes, you are right - historically, the garou have been strongest together, and weakest apart.
Brialka - Historian Councillor: I must stop you there! The Elder is strong-willed but trustworthy. Nothing in his history points to betrayal, and history is what I care about.
Brialka - Historian Councillor: The young are so exciting to watch! But history tells me that open rebellion is more dangerous than any Mark Day.
Shangruuh - Alcarrid Envoy: They don't know how terrible, awful and painful the Mark is! At any moment, Fuzan could decide to puppet our bodies. Nobody should willingly get the Mark.
Shangruuh - Alcarrid Envoy: That will be Alabrais. He's a geologist. You'll find him wherever there are big rocks, in the direction of Fuzan's Volcano. He's a garou of logic, and his love is for science.
Shangruuh - Alcarrid Envoy: That's Brialka, the historian. He'll be outside the Pyramid, north of here. He is the emotional type, loves his history, and will do anything to ensure a legacy for his people.
Shangruuh - Alcarrid Envoy: Ugh, Chirot. He's a glorified graverobber, stealing treasures from the desert. He is as selfish as they get, only concerned about his wealth and interests. You'll find his camp to the south of here.
Shangruuh - Alcarrid Envoy: Well, good luck all the same.
Alabrais - Science Councillor: Promises almost never hold, young one. As a bond, it is one of the weakest. You will need a more scientifically proven argument than that.
Alabrais - Science Councillor: You make a compelling argument. Both the KotHaar and the Mark show an orientation towards overbearing control. I will withdraw my support for the Mark Day.
Alabrais - Science Councillor: Many garou will say they are miserable already! Things are relative, young one. You must consider proportional value in your scientific studies.
Chirot - Broker Councillor: How can I NOT think about money? Coins have two sides: power and influence. I love them both.
Chirot - Broker Councillor: You're right! Only Chirot gets to steal from his fellow garou! I am withdrawing my support for the festival. You can tell the Elder that I'm having none of it.
Chirot - Broker Councillor: You misunderstand the mortal condition, my friend. There is always money to be made, ESPECIALLY when things are bad.
Brialka - Historian Councillor: And have the blood of hundreds, perhaps thousands of garou on our hands? History would not be kind to us if that were the case.
Brialka - Historian Councillor: Nothing brings people together like adversity. You are a convincing little human! You have my vote to cancel Mark Day.
Brialka - Historian Councillor: If we dismantle governments every time a mistake is made, then how would we ever learn? History would repeat itself.
Shangruuh - Alcarrid Envoy: The Elder won't change their mind, but the Council might. Please, find Uzzer's councillors near the landmarks of this region. Persuade them that Fuzan Mark Day is the most terrible of terrible ideas.
Shangruuh - Alcarrid Envoy: Please, make space in your inventory so I can give you what I owe you.
Shangruuh - Alcarrid Envoy: You will need to pay attention to what the councillors value. I know a little about each of them, if you are interested?
Shangruuh - Alcarrid Envoy: That will be Alabrais. He's a geologist. You'll find him wherever there are big rocks, in the direction of Fuzan's Volcano. He's a garou of logic, and his love is for science.

Words are inscribed on the stone.
Laguna - The Bard: Goodness, you surprised me with your soft, noiseless feet. I may have a deal to propose, but you should talk to the Elder first.
The complete passage is inscribed here!
Words seem to be inscribed on the stone.
Words seem to be inscribed on the stone.
Open the Saga in your inventory if you want to read the passages.
Laguna - The Bard: Good day. I am a bard, on the market for a business partner - one with survival skills.
"Long ago, the gateways were created by the Dragonkin."
Laguna - The Bard: There are four rocky spires around the pyramid, close to this camp. Each spire contains a stone slab.
Laguna - The Bard: Ah, it is my Partner in Adventure! How goes the treasure-hunting?
Laguna - The Bard: Well done on finishing the saga! I will enjoy performing it at Fuzan's Mark Day.
"Only the strong would return, with tales of powerful horrors from far off lands within."
Laguna - The Bard: I want you to find each stone slab and note down the passages that are inscribed on them. Together, they will form a saga.
Laguna - The Bard: The passages are laid out in the Saga in your inventory, but I would be happy to repeat them now.
Laguna - The Bard: Feel free to unlock and explore the gateway at your own leisure. Meanwhile, I will sing your praises to the Elder.
"From the other side, they brought powerful relics."
Laguna - The Bard: Take this book to note down the passages. And remember: four rocky spires, each at the corners of the pyramid. Good luck!
Laguna - The Bard: I want you to find each stone slab and note down the passages that are inscribed on them. Together, they will form a saga.
"Our greatest searched and slayed for the engram to grant us passage."
Laguna - The Bard: Take this book to note down the passages. And remember: four rocky spires, each at the corners of the pyramid. Good luck!
And the missing line: "But for we were not aware, that other sacred gateways would be discovered across the land."
Laguna - The Bard: Look, you'll need to make room in your bag if you want my gift.
You have found the final words for the Saga.
"From the other side, they brought powerful relics."
"Only the strong would return, with tales of powerful horrors from far off lands within."
"Long ago, the gateways were created by the Dragonkin."
"Our greatest searched and slayed for the engram to grant us passage."
Below the passage, scratched into the stone slab, is an arrow pointing north-east.
Lehran - The Archaeologist: Would you like to know more about the texts you uncovered?
Lehran - The Archaeologist: It is no secret that the schism was a defining moment for my people. The garou were once united under a single banner. We served under Lougrim, goddess of the moon.
Lehran - The Archaeologist: Our people have always felt connected with the moon. There is something about its silver light that brings a sense of peace that's hard to describe to non-garou.
Lehran - The Archaeologist: This Forbidden Scroll is fascinating. Our histories have reference of a Sun Demon, but they assume she arrived many thousands of years ago. But the Scrolls say that she arrives just after Fuzan.
Lehran - The Archaeologist: To call it the Old Kingdom is perhaps a misnomer, for it is far more recent than our Ghornfell settlements. Nicer though... by a lot.
This Forbidden Scroll contains an alternate version of what really happened between Lougrim and Kuldra.
You have already found the ancient scroll that came from here.
Lehran - The Archaeologist: Oh no, no. There's a protocol in place for addressing the locals. You need to speak to the Elder first.
This Forbidden Scroll shines a light on the real Moon and River Goddess.
You have already found the ancient scroll that came from here.
This Forbidden Scroll talks about the Sun Demon, but suggests she arrived reasonably recently.
You have already found the ancient scroll that came from here.
This Forbidden Scroll debunks the theory that ancient garou just disappeared in Umbral Sands.
You have already found the ancient scroll that came from here.
Lehran - The Archaeologist: According to our traditions, we had the rite of challenge: anyone who could best the current monarch became ruler of the tribe. Lougrim challenged all the elders, becoming the High Queen of the Garou.
Lehran - The Archaeologist: It's no surprise, then, that we favour deities of the moon. Our first was Lougrim, a goddess of the moon and of the hunt. She was slain by Kuldra. A dark time for our people.
Lehran - The Archaeologist: The Scroll also says that she entrances people somehow, changing who they are and turning them into devout worshippers of the sun - sometimes of flame, depending on the story.
Lehran - The Archaeologist: The Forbidden Scrolls confirm that the early Moon Garou were found travelling by a river goddess, who taught them culture and craft, so that they might move from settlements to cities.
Lehran - The Archaeologist: Kuldra, the dragon queen and source of most of our problems, challenged Lougrim. Current garou history tells that this was a fair fight. Skill versus skill, might versus might. But according to the scroll, this was a lie!
Lehran - The Archaeologist: Then, for a time, we wandered godless. We were alone, without the guidance we were so used to. That was until, one day, a child went missing in the sands.
Lehran - The Archaeologist: She never seems to kill her victims. Indeed, the Forbidden Scroll implies that the subject lives a happy life in some sort of religious ecstasy. Their entire purpose in life is one of praise and adoration.
Lehran - The Archaeologist: And these cities were giant. They had stone walls and colourful tapestries, dangling across streets to shield people from the sands.
Lehran - The Archaeologist: Ah, you'll be the one that's looking for the Mirror Lens. A rare fragment of history, that.
Lehran - The Archaeologist: The challenge wasn't issued at all! Lougrim had spent almost of all of her power shielding villages from dragonfire. Wounded and weak, Kuldra descended on her without mercy and simply devoured her.
Lehran - The Archaeologist: She was found, resting in an oasis that hadn't been there until that day, listening to the song of someone beautiful. Our histories tell us she was a garou, but the Forbidden Scroll says that she looked more like a human!
Lehran - The Archaeologist: Often those afflicted end up immolating themselves in some way. Horrifying, I know. They seek ways to burn themselves up, perhaps as some sort of sacrifice?
Lehran - The Archaeologist: There were libraries filled with scrolls, full of the ancient words of our people. Festivals of colour, light, food and song.
Lehran - The Archaeologist: How about we help each other out? Historian to historian. You help me learn the truth about my ancestors, and I vouch for you with the Elder.
Lehran - The Archaeologist: Kuldra declared herself queen and, out of fear, many garou followed her. But not us. Not those who would become Moon Garou. We refused to submit and fled our homes in search of a land free from Kuldra's cruelty.
Lehran - The Archaeologist: Fascinating, yes? She called herself the goddess of the river, a moon deity that had left her old kingdom behind. In us she saw a people in need and she lifted us out of the dirt and into the dunes.
Lehran - The Archaeologist: I suppose the moral is that curiosity must always be paired with caution, lest you might lose yourself in the discovery.
Lehran - The Archaeologist: We put aside the need for the hunt, and found ways to enrich ourselves with art, sciences and magic. It was a golden age for my people.
Lehran - The Archaeologist: How's the digging going? If you need a reminder of where you're heading, it's the ruins to the far south. Dripping with KotHaar they are.
Lehran - The Archaeologist: This is fascinating, but it makes little sense to me without all four Forbidden Scrolls. Come back when you have them all.
Lehran - The Archaeologist: There are some ruins far to the south, long lost to the sands. The KotHaar have stopped me from travelling there myself. It is said that beneath the sand are the Forbidden Scrolls. Four of them, in fact.
Lehran - The Archaeologist: I wonder why the truth of that moment was considered forbidden?
Lehran - The Archaeologist: She taught us architecture and agriculture, and she gave us the mirrors to protect us from supernatural threats.
Lehran - The Archaeologist: We were told that this civilisation became lost over time. But the scroll tells us it is a lie! Fuzan tore it down. He turned the very sun against us, so that we could no longer find comfort in the cities we had forged!
Lehran - The Archaeologist: The Forbidden Scrolls are said to contain the truth about the Moon Garou. Not what we have been fed by our Elders: what actually happened, many centuries ago.
Lehran - The Archaeologist: The Forbidden Scroll says that once she had helped us build our civilisation, she left this world for the stars - in search, perhaps, of some new souls in need of her guiding light. Can that really be the truth?
Lehran - The Archaeologist: Goodness, I can see why they were called Forbidden Scrolls! So much of Moon Garou history is based on outright lies.
Lehran - The Archaeologist: Dig them up, with a spade, bring them to me and you will have your recommendation. Sound fair? I'll even share the revelations, if there are any.
Lehran - The Archaeologist: She was not called El-Idahn-Inees, as our histories tell us. She was Elidinis: the mother of the Moon Garou.
Lehran - The Archaeologist: Luckily, there's nothing I like more than re-writing history books. This will keep me going for months!
Lehran - The Archaeologist: I will petition the Elder to give you the Mirror Lens. And should you be curious, you can return to me and find out what was written in the Forbidden Scrolls.
Lehran - The Archaeologist: Please, make space in your inventory so I can give you what I owe you.

Laguna - The Bard: It's time to move on, I feel. I wonder if the Alcarrid tribe are more my vibe.
Laguna - The Bard: Please, make space in your inventory so I can give you what I owe you.
"A shaman journeyed on the garous' behalf. Moon sprites twinkling on his adamant staff. Kalphite skittered with a twist of his wrist. Till the monster approached. "Shaman, desist." "
"Five cradles stood empty on that baleful night, A monster claimed them, and then took flight. It left no footprints or scent on the air, All the garou could follow was a thread of despair."
"A staff will not kill me. Ha - it'll take more than that! I have something to trade for your five little cats. Their young minds are worthless. I need something older. I'll take what's in your hand, and what's on your shoulder."
Laguna - The Bard: You've found them all! Deeeelightful. Let me weave them into verse.
Laguna - The Bard: Where did I send you again? Oh yes: head south to the Vault and look for lyrics carved into stone slabs. Just watch out for beetles!
Laguna - The Bard: Oh. That's... tragic. I imagined a more heroic fate than that.
Laguna - The Bard: Is it a mirage? A wondrous warrior has stepped in from the desert. My name is Laguna: the finest travelling bard this side of Kuldra's Tower.
Laguna - The Bard: If it isn't the Dreamboat of the Desert! The ancient saga we recovered together has been getting me a lot of attention. And I mean a LOT.
Laguna - The Bard: It does make me wonder. Perhaps I am not descended from the shaman, and am - instead - descended from one of the children he saved.
Laguna - The Bard: I need your help with something, if you would. My great-great-grandfather was a shaman, and I came here to learn more about him. Perhaps write a song in his honour.
Laguna - The Bard: Sigh. I guess I will never know. I'm not sure what good it will do you, but I will vouch for you to the Manafem Elder.
Laguna - The Bard: But the Manafem garou are less than helpful. They say 'everything I need to know is in the Vault'.
Laguna - The Bard: They say that his children wrote a song about him? It's inscribed onto three stone slabs within a pyramid-like vault, somewhere to the south.
Laguna - The Bard: Would you go there and write down the lyrics on the stone slabs? I would go myself, but it's said that there are beetles in the vault. And you know... ick.
That's it! The Song of the Ancients is complete. Laguna - The Bard will want to hear the complete verse.
Efina - The Lost: Don't worry, I'm safe and healthy. I'm just making the hardest choice of my life.
Manathep - The Bereaved: I'm beside myself! Please, talk to the Elder then come back to me after. I have need of you.
Efina - The Lost: I am so lost... the sand it... it obscured everything. Water, please, do you have any clean water?
Manathep - The Bereaved: Efina's alive? Efina's alive! Glory upon the River Goddess!
Efina - The Lost: I can feel the strength coming back to me. Thank you.
Efina - The Lost: Have mercy, I'll die without water. Please help.
Efina - The Lost: I am so lost... the sand it... it obscured everything. Water, please, do you have any clean water?
Manathep - The Bereaved: The Dearg Due! The Dearg Due! It killed my poor Efina!
Manathep - The Bereaved: Please, we will get no peace until the Dearg Due is dead. It watches us from the south of the camp. Kill it, then find my Efina's remains.
Manathep - The Bereaved: Well, if the beast didn't kill Efina, then it must have tricked her. Efina wouldn't go into the desert alone.
Efina - The Lost: I ran away from Manafem. I couldn't do it any more: the Mark, the overbearing sadness, my mum keeping watch over me every waking hour.
Efina - The Lost: Have mercy, I'll die without water. Please help.
Manathep - The Bereaved: Efina was taken three days ago, and every night the Dearg Due has been watching me from the south of the camp with a glint in her eye and blood on her lips. She be gloating!
Manathep - The Bereaved: I can barely wait for my Efina to come back. And don't you worry - I'll tell the Elder all about what you done for me.
Efina - The Lost: Tell mum that I'm safe, that I'm on my way back. It may be the truth, it may not. I have a decision to make.
Manathep - The Bereaved: The Dearg Due is a wicked beast. Lures you into the sands then snaps your bones. Oh, Efina!
Efina - The Lost: Whichever way I am heading - thank you. And thanks to you, Dearg Due. I was brought up to fear you, but I know now that was wrong.
Manathep - The Bereaved: You have to kill it! Kill the Dearg Due! Go south where it prowls, an' make sure it never kills another. Then, please, bring back my Efina's body.
Manathep - The Bereaved: Please, make space in your inventory so I can give you what I owe you.
The Dearg Due howls.
You get the sense that a curse has been lifted and the Dearg Due can move on from this world.
This must be one of Hedric's lost scouts. The poor garou has been torched completely.
A garou lies here, twisted in agony and burned.
A garou lies here, its fur matted with blood. There is something large and grey embedded in its back.
A garou lies dead here, covered in blood.
The ruins have been charred by a concentrated blast of fire. The Scorch and sandstorms could not have done this.
A garou lies here, twisted in agony and burned.
Hedric - The Hunter: Move along, human. Head to the Elder if you plan on sticking around.
There are no blades or arrows here. The corpse reeks of the familiar smell of sulphur.
It's a tooth. An extremely large tooth.
While large, the blast is lesser than that of Fuzan. Whatever did this is smaller, but not that much smaller.
Hedric - The Hunter: We have one fewer thing to fear. Thank you.
Hedric - The Hunter: Please, make space in your inventory so I can give you what I owe you.
Hedric - The Hunter: Move along, human. Head to the Elder if you plan on sticking around.
Hedric - The Hunter: There are always two kinds of people: the weak and the vultures. When someone is down, needing help, there's someone like you - hovering, waiting to pick from the carcass.
Hedric - The Hunter: You want to prove that you're not? Hmmm. Well, my latest scouting party have gone missing, on the trail of a creature that has been picking off my people, one by one.
Hedric - The Hunter: A dragon! Of course it's a dragon. We'll just throw it on the pile with the sandstorms, Fuzan, kalphite and KotHaar.
Hedric - The Hunter: Thank you for finding my scout's bodies. I feared that would be the case. I will send someone to bury them, now that you have made the area safe.
Hedric - The Hunter: You killed the creature already? If it was a dragon of that size, I fear my scouts are dead. The Manafem are strong, but not that strong.
Hedric - The Hunter: Find my scouts, then help them track down the beast. Bring me its heart - if it has one. Do that, and I might think twice about you. They should be somewhere off to the east.
Hedric - The Hunter: My request hasn't changed. Kill it. The people of Manafem will be much obliged.
Hedric - The Hunter: Must I repeat myself? Find my scouts to the east, and help them to track the beast then take its heart. I'm confident they are somewhere to the east.
Hedric - The Hunter: Still, that dragon will have been small-fry compared to Fuzan. I hope you know what you're doing. Regardless, I have given my recommendation to the Elder.
