Granite Mauled
Uncover the secrets of Ashien's Watch.
Doric, on the lookout with ruins south of Ashien's Watch in the north-east of the Fractured Plains, was chased off the relics he was after. Activate the four statues in Ashien's Watch, clear the Skeklac Kara vault beneath it and bring him the blueprint from the statue at the end, and you can forge the Granite Maul, a masterwork weapon.

Steps
3- 1
Investigate the secrets hidden below Ashien's Watch.
Windstep across the broken bridge (or build over it) and activate all four statues in Ashien's Watch to open the vault. Inside are putrid rats and poison gas bubbles tucked into corners that explode for heavy damage, so carry antipoison or poison-resistant food and check your blind spots. The lever that opens the corruptor's doors is where it gets hard: the vault corruptor hits hard and poisons, so fight it and the rats at range. The statue after the boss gives up the blueprint.
- 2
Find someone near Ashien's Watch who can translate ancient dwarvish.
Doric reads dwarvish.
- 3
Bring the blueprint to Doric in Ashien's Watch.
Hand him the blueprint. Keep a quest inventory slot free for it.
On completion
Deliving into dragonkin ruins is always perilous, but at least it can be rewarding. Thanks to your dungeon delving, you have uncovered the recipe for the legendary Granite Maul.
Tips
1The reward is the Imbued Granite Maul Head and the recipes for the maul, its leather wrappings and the ornate handle: head, wrappings, handle, eight vault shards and a vault core at a Blacksmith's Bench make the
Granite Maul, which Ascension Cores can upgrade later.
Dialogue (21 lines)
Doric: The statue has no further secrets for you.
Doric: The door is sealed by dragonkin magic.
A seal somewhere has broken.
Doric: The granite maul, now there's a weapon with heft. I wonder what other wonders the vaults are hiding?
Doric: How's the investigation going? I know Ashien's Watch must have something interesting to discover.
Doric: Oh, hello again. I'm impressed you've made it all the way out here. Really coming into your own, eh?
Doric: Oh, what's that? You found something? Let me take a look at that blueprint for you.
Doric: Oh, hello again. I'm impressed you've made it all the way out here. Really coming into your own, eh?
Doric: You see that place over there? Ashien's Watch, they calls it. Used to be a site of some battle or other.
Doric: Well now, that explains this great hunk o' stone. It's the head of a great, ruddy weapon. Here, I think I know how to make it now.
Doric: You see that place over there? Ashien's Watch, they calls it. Used to be a site of some battle or other.
Doric: You find a weapon blueprint written in dwarvish. Perhaps someone nearby can help translate it.
Doric: Oh, you've already been in the vault? Brilliant, what did you find?
Doric: Oh. You appear to be a little overburdened. I've got something for you, but you should come back to me when you have space to carry it.
Doric: It's the sort of place where dragonkin would have hoarded their more interesting stuff. Feels like the sort of thing they'd do.
Doric: You find a weapon blueprint written in dwarvish. Perhaps Doric can help translate it.
Doric: Hrmm, this looks like a blueprint for a very special weapon, and look, I already found a bit to get you started!
Doric: I found a strange stone block covered in weird sigils, but then garou ran me out of the place with threats of pointy sticks.
Doric: Ah, enjoy making that. These sorts of weapons are what an artisan lives for.
Doric: I'm guessing you're much better at all this fighting malarky. Mind poking around? See what's sealed away?
Doric: These sorts of weapons are what an artisan lives for. Enjoy crafting it and then hitting your enemies with it.
