Scarecrow Scavenging

Scarecrow Scavenging is a treasure hunt rather than a quest line. The scarecrow stands just south of where the river splits three ways on the border between the Fractured Plains and the Stormtouched Highlands; talk to it for the scarecrow's key, then follow the map it gives you from one hidden map to the next across Ghornfell until the last one marks the treasure. Each stop also has a lore scrap worth reading. The chest at the end holds the Tome of Farming volume 2, six ash tree seeds, five oak tree seeds and the Farmer's Hat.

The key carries a quest marker even though the journal never lists this as a quest, so don't wait for an entry to appear.

Dialogue (12 lines)

Scarecrow: Walk my path, tread the ground.

Scarecrow: Memory falls out of me like straw.

Scarecrow: Locked

Scarecrow: A key will unlock my lost and found.

Scarecrow: I buried it… where my wooden post last broke the ground.

Scarecrow: I remember... I was not always like this.

Scarecrow: Take the straw out of your pockets so I can give you the key.

Scarecrow: Find the spot… and dig.

Scarecrow: I walked these fields. I breathed. I think I even had a name.

Scarecrow: You do not have the space to receive your reward. You will need to make room in your backpack.
