What Remains is Written
Find the stolen knowledge and return it to its owner. I'm sure nothing bad will happen because of it.
Abraxus The Eternal, just north of the fork in the road in Coalridge Pass, only talks to you if you wear the full necromancer's set (crown, robe top and bottom) and the ghostspeak amulet, because he takes you for an apprentice. His library was ransacked: five books lie around Silverthorn Keep and three scrolls are held by a green dragon, a zogre and a rival. Return them unread and he parts with the
Abraxus Ring and its recipe.

Steps
7- 1
Find five of Abraxus' missing books in eastern Fellhollow and return them to him.
The books: The Pride of the Avernic on the second level of Silverthorn Keep by the archery targets; The Importance of Chaos just north-west of the ominous gateway, on the slope at the south-west end of the gateway ruin; Aetheric Fundamentals across the stone bridge where the curse fragment was, next to a green dragon spawn; The Wrath of Baba Potterington in a crumbled stone house by the nature grove north of the keep; Leonard the Bound on a pedestal on the western side of the ruined gate between the Lake of Lost Souls and the keep, among skeletal hoplites and archers.
- 2
Bring the books to Abraxus.
- 3
Defeat Abraxus' enemies to retrieve the scrolls.
The scrolls: Eventide from Razlem the Deranged, who wanders a small ruin directly east of the ominous gateway (it's on the desk by him); Coclear Malificarum from Ulgo the zogre just north of the Coalridge Pass label, beside the chest in his hoard; The Binding of Ib from Blightscale, the green dragon in the clearing with a spectral door south of the cliffs up to the keep, north-east of the gateway, by the bones.
- 4
Bring the scrolls to Abraxus.
- 5
Find five of Abraxus' missing books in eastern Fellhollow and return them to him.
- 6
Defeat Abraxus' enemies to retrieve the scrolls. Then return them to Abraxus.
- 7
Find the owner of the sinister text.
Wear the robes again for the hand-over.
On completion
Abraxus might be a bit unpleasant to work with, but… no, no, that's the end of that statement. You helped gather a bunch of documents for a clearly evil necromancer. I'm sure that will all be fine.
Tips
1The ring reduces rune costs for spells such as Surge and Enchant Weapon, which is why the magic boss guides reach for it.

Aetheric Fundamentals, a Primordial Primer: You find one of Abraxus' books.
Aetheric Fundamentals, a Primordial Primer: You find one of Abraxus' books.
Binding of Ib: You find one of Abraxus' scrolls. The writing crawls along the page, making it impossible to read without strange arcane knowledge.
Binding of Ib: You find one of Abraxus' scrolls. Each time you look at the scroll, you could swear the text is different to the last time you looked.
Binding of Ib: You find one of Abraxus' scrolls. It's too awful, you cannot bring yourself to read it.
Abraxus The Eternal: Ah, hello apprentice. I'm sorry, I have no arrogant quips for you today... fate has been a most cruel mistress.
Aetheric Fundamentals, a Primordial Primer: You find one of Abraxus' books.
Aetheric Fundamentals, a Primordial Primer: This book appears to be a grimoire of terrible curses. When you open it a crumpled note falls out.
Aetheric Fundamentals, a Primordial Primer: This book appears to be a religious dissertation on the merits of the Zamorak faith. When you open it a letter falls out.
Aetheric Fundamentals, a Primordial Primer: The book is written in the language of Infernus and impossible to read. However, a perfumed note is stuffed between the pages...
Aetheric Fundamentals, a Primordial Primer: This tome writhes beneath your fingertips, as if infused with some dread spirit. It practically spits a letter out at you.
Abraxus The Eternal: Now, if you'll excuse me, I need to mail a pebble to my... to an old friend of mine. See if that will let me haunt them for a while. I am so bored of this view.
Abraxus The Eternal: Valerius here, he used to be a shining thunderstorm of genius. A wizard who could have made the world tremble if he could turn himself away from his books, just for a time.
Aetheric Fundamentals, a Primordial Primer: Among all the technical jargon, a note falls out.
Aetheric Fundamentals, a Primordial Primer: You make me so angry, Abraxus. A fire I cannot put out. I want to shout at you. I want to kick you down the stairs. I want to wrap my arms around you and scream into your chest.
Aetheric Fundamentals, a Primordial Primer: Dear Abraxus, I hope this letter finds you well. Dowdun Reach is proving both fascinating and infuriating in equal measure.
Aetheric Fundamentals, a Primordial Primer: My dearest Abraxus, this keep is full of madmen and morons. People to whom power means strength and might, rather than unravelling the secrets of the universe.
Aetheric Fundamentals, a Primordial Primer: Dear Valerius, I am too cowardly to send this letter. Too afraid that you might burn it, or laugh at it, or worse still, ignore it. But if I do not say it now, I never will.
Abraxus The Eternal: What do you want? I have little time for the likes of you. Only a member of my own order can assist me and you certainly don't look the part.
Abraxus The Eternal: OoooOOooOOoooOooooOoooh!
Abraxus The Eternal: But, now... now he barely remembers his name...
Aetheric Fundamentals, a Primordial Primer: On summer days, with bluer skies, I am oft reminded of your eyes. On winter nights, by the fire we roast, And I think about what I love the most.
Aetheric Fundamentals, a Primordial Primer: You make me a very undignified wizard, Abraxus. Very undignified indeed.
Aetheric Fundamentals, a Primordial Primer: Whilst we are not limited by the prattling sensibilities of the village wizards, they replace it with a sort of blind aggression and anger against everyone.
Aetheric Fundamentals, a Primordial Primer: We are looking to create a demonic portal, that we might summon beings from another world. Imagine! We could learn so much!
Aetheric Fundamentals, a Primordial Primer: *The letter is torn in half before any more can be said.*
Abraxus The Eternal: Ah, apprentice... I assume you're an apprentice - with robes that shabby what else could you be? Still, needs must. Apprentice, I require your assistance.
Abraxus The Eternal: Still, what good is eternity if you cannot look after the ones you lo... those that matter most? So, I'll keep an eye on him for now.
Aetheric Fundamentals, a Primordial Primer: It's your sparkling wit, your wicked smile. With your every word, you do beguile.
Aetheric Fundamentals, a Primordial Primer: Still, I do wish you would join me. I think you might find there are wonderful secrets to uncover when one is not shackled by pointless morality.
Aetheric Fundamentals, a Primordial Primer: Yet they will just try and raise an army. Urgh! How I wish you were here with me. We could show them what a real wizard can do.
Abraxus The Eternal: Yes, yes, I know, I know. You stand in the presence of Abraxus The Eternal, master of necromancy. Keeper of secrets, both occult and arcane.
Abraxus The Eternal: Maybe, one day, he'll even remember me.
Aetheric Fundamentals, a Primordial Primer: *Great scratch marks of pencil obscure the rest of the page.*
Abraxus The Eternal: You are very blessed, I am sure. Now, I need you to assist me. My library has been ransacked by the locals and my most precious tomes spread across the eastern parts of this region.
Abraxus The Eternal: Find them, all five of them, bring them to me and -- this is crucial -- do not read them. Your mind is too young, too limited to contain the dread secrets within! Well... hop to it!
Abraxus The Eternal: Three of my secret scrolls have been stolen and you must reclaim them for me.
Abraxus The Eternal: The first was stolen by a wretched green dragon known as Blightscale. Arrogant creature, you must make a lesson of her hubris.
Abraxus The Eternal: In disguise, are we? Blending in with the riff-raff and the yobs? Not sure I agree with such a plan, but you do you.
Abraxus The Eternal: I need you to find my books. Find them, all five of them, bring them to me and -- this is crucial -- do not read them. Your feeble mind cannot handle their secrets.
Abraxus The Eternal: OoooOOooOOoooOooooOoooh!
Abraxus The Eternal: You have done well my apprentice and earned something no one else has earned in centuries - my respect.
Abraxus The Eternal: The second scroll was taken by a zogre known as Ulgo. Foul creature, stinks beyond comprehension, but I'm sure you can handle it.
Abraxus The Eternal: I need you to find my books. Find them, all five of them, bring them to me and -- this is crucial -- do not read them. Your feeble mind cannot handle their secrets.
Abraxus The Eternal: But I am not fool enough to believe you would find such a thing sufficient for your efforts. So, here, take this instead. May it serve you well.
Abraxus The Eternal: The last was taken by a rival of mine, Razlem - The Deranged. A far less skilled necromancer than myself, but dangerous nonetheless.
Abraxus The Eternal: Now, if you'll excuse me, I need to mail a pebble to my... to an old friend of mine. See if that will let me haunt them for a while. I am so bored of this view.
Abraxus The Eternal: Excellent, excellent, you've found my books. I trust you were not fool enough to peak.
Abraxus The Eternal: Oh, but you already have my books. Are you in league with the thief, perhaps? Or are you simply more efficient than expected. No matter, your work is appreciated.
Abraxus The Eternal: I've got something for you, a thank you of sorts, but you're a little overburdened. Clear out some of that backpack and then come back and see me.
Abraxus The Eternal: However, your assistance is still required, apprentice. Three of my secret scrolls have been stolen and you must reclaim them for me.
