The Pastures

There is a phrase "to put them out to pasture" which is used to describe someone being discarded, or perhaps even left to die. In Dowdun Reach, this was depressingly literal. There's a reason that the rats are everywhere in the Pastures - a reason why the grass is so alive, despite the dilapidation of the rest of the region.

It is because the soil is nurtured by the bodies of those cultists that were not able to keep up with the rest of the fortress.
