The Wise Old Man wants to teach you about lifewards and how to recharge them.

A short lesson in lifewards from the Wise Old Man north-east of the Bramblemead ruins: build a Rune Altar if you haven't, make a small wardstone and hand it over. It unlocks the moment you craft a piece of armour.

    Speak to the Wise Old Man to learn about lifewards.

    Craft a Small Wardstone at a Crafting Table and bring it to the Wise Old Man.

    A Rune Altar is 12 stone and 4 rune essence; a Small Wardstone is 5 essence and 1 stone at a crafting table. Make several while you're there, and a higher tier if you can, because Dragon Slayer is next.

    Bring your Small Wardstone to the Wise Old Man.
